The Texas Songwriter Serenade

The club will be traveling to Moravia, TX to attend the 14th Annual Texas Songwriter Serenade.  This is a great day full of driving our cars, enjoying extremely talented singer-songwriters and a bit of good conversation and laughter along the way.

The Serenade is a competition with some of the most talented songwriters from across the U.S. competing for cash prizes and more importantly, recognition as a top talent.  The semifinals will be from 11:00am to 2:00pm and the finals from 3:00 to 4:00pm.  It is an intimate setting with seating for only a couple hundred people and lots' of opportunity to meet the performers.

This is a ticketed event, the organizers have not made ticket purchase available yet, but we will let you know when they do or you can keep an eye on their website by clicking HERE.

They will have food and beverages available for purchase, but this is also an excellent opportunity to bring a picnic lunch along as the venue has picnic tables available undercover and beautiful grounds. To learn more about the event read Bob & Kim Chalker's post in The ROARS from their visit last year.

For those of you who want to make a weekend out of it the Bugle Boy Concert Hall in La Grange, TX will be hosting a special event with the winners and judges performing at 8:00pm.  If you are interested in seeing this show there are a couple hotels in the local area.

We will meet the Buc-ees in Katy at 8:00am and will depart at 8:30am.  This will allow time to fuel up on breakfast tacos, coffee and Beaver Nuggets.  We will follow country roads arriving in Moravia around 10:30am, in time for the start of the music at 11:00am.    We expect to depart for home around 5:00pm following the awards ceremony.  There is also the possibility for stopping for dinner on the way home.

So grab your best girl or guy and join us for a day of Texas sized entertainment.
